Brief History :-

27 North Avenue and the sister property number 29 were designed and built by the renowned architect Sydney Bell who later became the city architect for Nottingham.

The two bungalows were built in the early 60’s for the architect himself and his daughter and son in law.

They were built to a high standard and included features such as slate window ledges, double glazing and larger than normal (at the time) cavity walls.

The plot was originally for 3 bungalows but the council wanted more space between the properties and would only sanction the two buildings – hence the nearly 0.25 acre site.

Number 27 was originally built as a 3 bedroom bungalow with the current music room being the master bedroom. It was extended in 1972 by a loft conversion adding a bedroom, bathroom and another bedroom / games room.
